(MobilityNewswire/PRWEB ) June 21, 2004 -- Beiks BDicty, the leading mobile dictionary and reference ‘engine for language learning, education, medicine, and other reference materials, has received high marks in recently published reviews by The Daily Gadget and KickStartNews.
Popular with teachers, doctors, students, and business people, BDicty's intuitive interface provides a single solution for a broad array of content: English word definitions to verb conjugators and phrasebooks for speaking and pronouncing many European languages, to biblical reference works such as Strongs Concordance. Additionally, BDicty boasts a history of numerous 'firsts, including first to use color, first to include native ARM-processor code (to speed word searches), and the first to provide Listen-&-Repeat foreign pronunciation recordings with Beiks Talking Phrasebooks. Beiks offers dictionary readers for Pocket PC, Palm OS, Blackberry and Smartphone platforms.
The Daily Gadget reviewed BDicty Gold, giving it a rating of 4.5/5, and quickly recognized its ease-of-use.
BDicty opens with a list of words and a search window on the top of the screen. As you begin typing the word in the search bar, the application starts narrowing down the list to show the words that match the characters that you have typed so far. As soon as you have typed enough so that it can narrow the word down to one, it displays the definition for that word. However, you can simply click on the correct word on the list to display the definition as the list narrows."

KickStartNews focused its review on the free BDicty Reader itself, as it had already reviewed the English Dictionary and MedicineNet Pocket Drug Guide. The reviewer, who tested BDicty on a Palm OS device, appreciated the attention to detail the products developers put into the application.
The latest version seems to improve slightly on the already terrific screen rendering. In fact, BDicty displays text as cleanly and clearly as any program we've seen. It's a tribute both to Beiks programmers and the vastly improved Palm OS PDA screens. BDicty automatically detects the presence in system memory or storage card of any installed Beiks databases and lexicons, making them available in the reader via drop list."
KickStartNews also devoted a section of their review to Beiks LexSpell spelling checker application for Palm OS. The reviewer recognized the vastness and completeness of the dictionary from which LexSpell is able to check for spelling and grammar errors.
The U.S. English database contains almost 100,000 words. Beiks continues to do a superb job of proofing of all its databases. After reviewing three full Beiks products, we've yet to find a spelling or grammatical error."
