100% Pass Rate for University of North Dakota Students Taking the TAP Series' Food Safety Manager Certification Training Program

A University of North Dakota Food Safety Manager Certification course using the TAP Series Food Safety Certification Training Program exceeds expectations.

Fargo, North Dakota (PRWEB) June 6, 2004 --- The Tap Series' Program, an alliance partner with the American Hotel & Lodging Educational Institute reports that professor Lynette Winters of North Dakota State is having exceptional success with a self paced, digital-training food safety manager certification course offered by TAP Series.

Professor Winters recently announced that 100% of the 40+ students in her Food Safety Manager Certification course passed the examination on their first attempt. Professor Winters was not surprised by the results because she was convinced that the TAP Series was the most efficient approach to having students become Food Safety certified.

More than four years ago, Professor Winters and her colleagues were faced with the chore of revamping the Universitys sanitation courses. The group was grateful for the opportunity to rethink the program and develop specific goals which would be more closely aligned with the University and student needs.

The first priority for the Hospitality and Dietetics Department was to be sure the students were certified at the end of this training. Secondary goals addressed curriculum relevance and number of credits required. Third level goals required the program to be of high quality, flexible in instruction time and place, as well as engaging and highly interactive. These criteria in place, Professor Winters began to research her options. The clear choice for her was the TAP Series.

The TAP Series education programs, being internet-based and highly interactive, are significantly different from the traditional method of teaching these subjects. So, Professor Winters needed to convince others of TAPS superior format. She set up a pilot program for the first year in which she conducted a pre- and post-test evaluation of student learning. From these tests, she discovered that the TAP Series Training Program significantly increased knowledge and retention. These successes based on the pilot program results were clear-the TAP Series was the program that would best meet the Universitys goals.

Over the next three years, Professor Winters continued to have great success with the program. Her students were consistently satisfied with the programs engaging lessons and flexibility in terms of study time and location. Many students reported that being able to study late at night after other activities were complete, was a significant advantage. When surveyed at the end of this years courses, 100% of her students recommended that she stay with the TAP Series Program and not return to a traditional classroom structure.

Professor Winters concluded "my expectations of the programs quality, student satisfaction, ease of use and exam pass rates have been exceeded". These results have led the Professor to consider offering this course, to other Departments within her University. She is clearly satisfied with her choice of TAP Series to guide her students to their ultimate goal for food safety certification.
