New Search Engine to 'Archive' News Syndication

New Search Engine FeedPlex to archive syndicated news, helping users search a decent archive of articles, blog entries, newsletter posts, and headlines.

Queenstown, New Zealand (PRWEB) July 2, 2004 -- Have you ever wondered how to search for Rooney's reaction or Beckham's comments on the Euro2004, long after the Football Championship is over?

FeedPlex, a newly formed news search engine helps you do so by archiving syndicated content to search a large and well organized index of articles, blog entries, newsletter posts, and headlines from the past.

It searches up to 11,000 articles at the moment, scanning more than 700 news sources daily, with the most popular sources like Moreover, BBC, Reuters, Yahoo! News and Forbes updated hourly. Its built to bring you results which are not specifically the latest, but are relevant to your query.

When looking for sources, FeedPlex uses its own methodology to index only RSS, OPML, ATOM, RDF, and XML filetypes. This gives more flexibility towards keeping its index highly discrete – with nothing other than news.

We are continually adding new sources and working towards utilizing a large number of news providers," FeedPlex CEO and President, Sid Yadav said. Once we have 'em, we can start keeping track of each and every one." he added.

Along with an archive, the team at FeedPlex is also working on expanding it into a personalized news portal. The new model will consist of:
• Personal Aggregator – users will be able to choose their favourite sources and receive aggregated articles only from those.
• Rating System - users will be able to rate their sources, which will then slightly alter FeedPlexs search results for better personalization.
• Advertising Module – advertisements from publishers will appear as Sponsored Results, providing users with more alternative sources.

Our new model will be a perfect choice for those who currently use portals," Yadav claimed. As we will not only be focusing on giving quality results, but personalization as well - so the user will have a complete platform towards aggregating his or her personal preference".

FeedPlex may still be under BETA, but the technology remains purposeful and persistent - enough to fulfill a user's goal.
