Summer in Snowmass, Colorado

Fantastic Fourth of July Vacation in Snowmass Colorado!! Vacation in Snow Mass all summer long! Great Food. Great Music, Great sites.

(PRWEB) July 1, 2004 -- Summer in Snowmass, Colorado
By Mary Harris

If you are still planning your summer vacation I highly recommend you put Snowmass Village, Colorado on your agenda. Every weekend in Snowmass you will find a special event.

Over the 4th of July, Michael Martin Murphy is bringing West Fest to Snowmass Village. The weekend will be filled with western art exhibits, crafts, rodeos, dancing and music by Crystal Gayle, Nitty Gritty Dirk Band, Suzy Bogguss along with much more. Through out the summer, you can enjoy arts & crafts fairs, downhill bike racing, US Mountain Board Championship and much more. They will end the summer season in late September with a Wine, Food and Balloon Festival. Come and celebrate the extraordinary wines from around the world and delectable cuisine from local chefs. All of this in the midst of crisp clear mountain air and brilliant fall foliage of the Rocky Mountains.

All season long, there is also a wide variety of activities to choose from like whitewater rafting, downhill biking, backcountry jeeping, hiking, music on the mountains or simply relaxing by one of the many swimming pools in Snowmass Village. Blazing Adventures in the Snowmass Mall can help you book almost any type of adventure. Call them at 970-923-4544 or see them on the web at www.blazingadventures.com.

Most Thursday nights from mid June to mid September, there is a free concert on the mountainside by the Snowmass Village Mall. Bring your blanket and picnic basket and enjoy a relaxing and music filled evening.

The world famous town of Aspen is located just 12 miles away. Drive in for the evening to enjoy symposiums, symphonies, spectacular restaurants and all the glamour and glitz that makes Aspen famous.

For lodging options, I highly recommend the Snowmass Mountain Chalet for excellent service and a perfect location to restaurants, Festivals, activities and shopping. The friendly staff makes you feel right at home and breakfast is included! 2-day Adventure Packages start at just $146 per person. You get to choose the adventure of choice from rafting, jeeping or bike riding. Go to their web site for room rates and specials at www.mountainchalet.com or call them at 800-843-1579.

For dining options try Il Poggio located in the Mall in Snowmass. My favorite dish is the ravioli filled with squash, in a walnut cream sauce and my kids love the fettuccini alfrado. They have baskets of toys for the kids to play with, making it an enjoyable evening for the entire family.

Upon your return home, you will feel refreshed and enriched from this Rocky Mountain vacation!
