Jetbar.com Challenges Yahoo! and MSN Users
Jetbar.com is challenging the users of popular portal heavyweights Yahoo! and MSN to make the switch to Jetbar.
Portland, OR (PRWEB) July 1, 2004 -- Yahoo! and MSN both draw millions of users to their site each month and up until now there weren't many alternatives for people that wanted to get away from the banners and pop ups. Jetbar.com offers its users a clean layout with all of the popular features you would expect from a portal like free email, news, weather, and games.
Jetbar CEO Dan Trapp says "As a user of a major portal like Yahoo! you had very few options, you could either try to ignore the clutter of advertising or go over to MSN and be subjected to the same slow load times and mini movie clips. We created Jetbar around the idea of delivering content without compromising speed or the look of the web site."
Users of their popular toolbar have had a chance to BETA test the portal since early May. Dan mentions "The BETA testing went extremely well, we had around 30,000 people actively using the web site and they really helped us determine what people wanted to see out of the features and we built the site around that feedback." He also adds "Jetbar has been very successful to date. At the moment we're adding thousands of new email accounts each week and we already have hundreds of webmasters using our free news and weather feeds on their web sites. Based on the current levels of traffic we expect around a million unique visitors to try Jetbar by the end of the month."
