People are Reviving Their Sense of Smell with New Hot Pepper Nasal Spray

The lawsuits are based on both credible anecdotal evidence, and suspected links between intranasal Zinc usage and Anosmia. The complainants claim manufacturers knew about possible side effects concerning the Olfactory nerves after exposure to Zinc compounds. They point to clinical studies using intranasal Zinc to fight Polio in the 1930s. Nearly 20% of the children exposed to the Zinc ended up with Anosmia.

Although the theories of potential intranasal Zinc problems certainly ring true from past research experience coupled with the present anecdotal evidence, the study conducted more than 60 years ago, used Zinc Sulfate in the nasal solution -- not the Zinc Gluconicum used in the Zinc based nasal sprays of today.

Recently I published a version of this article that incorrectly confused Zinc Sulfate in the 1937 study, with Zinc Gluconicum used by most of the nasal sprays in question. Upon further research, I found that the Zinc Sulfate" which caused Anosmia was certainly a different compound when compared to the Zinc nasal sprays of today. Therefore, no direct correlation can be found by merely pointing to the past studies using the Sulfate compound when the legal issues today mainly concern Gluconicum compounds.

Regardless of which side of the lawsuits you may land, Sicap Industries may have the answer for many of these Anosmics thanks to the success of their Sinus Buster all natural nasal spray supplement.
