WEBWORKS OS secures major outsourcing contract

Software engineering services firm WEBWORKS OS has secured a major outsourcing contract from a New Zealand commercial application developer. A prototype of the application will be presented at the Microsoft World Wide Partners Conference in Toronto this month.

Manila, Philippines (PRWEB) July 3, 2004 -- WEBWORKS OS — a local software engineering firm — reported that it has secured a major outsourcing contract from PayGlobal, a New Zealand-based software developer specializing in people management solutions. The project entails developing the user interface of a new, sophisticated payroll solution called Global Pay which is targeted for release in the first quarter of 2005.

PayGlobal is a market leader in New Zealand and Australia for people management solutions. Its software suite includes integrated payroll, time and attendance, rostering, human resources, HR self-service, and web recruit modules. The company, based in Christchurch, New Zealand, also has offices in London, Hong Kong, and Australia and plans to expand into Europe, Asia and North America.

According to Gideon Vos, PayGlobal chief software architect, the company is developing a new, revolutionary payroll solution called Global Pay. It will be the first payroll application that can run across different regions despite varying legal requirements and HR practices. PayGlobal has found a way to work around these differences to produce an innovative, truly global payroll solution."

Global Pay will allow companies to fully automate their payroll in multiple locations, with unlimited employees, and within specified timeframes. Designed to address the entire payroll needs of organizations — including payments, deductions, entitlements, pay rates, and periods — Global Pay is scaleable and suitable for any organization, irregardless of size or industry, according to Vos.

Vos said that PayGlobal has finished developing the payroll engine on its own, but decided to outsource the development of the solutions user interface to a company with that specific core expertise. After careful evaluation, we decided that WEBWORKS OS was in the best position to deliver our requirements."

WEBWORKS OS provides commercial-grade software engineering services on the Microsoft .NET development platform. According to founder and CEO Joey Gurango, the company was formed by seasoned engineers and analysts from the product development center of Microsoft Business Solutions (MBS) who have had over 13 years experience in the business. Among the projects the team has worked on are the US and Canadian Human Resource Management and Payroll modules for MBS Great Plains which it developed, maintained, and enhanced.

WEBWORKS OS began work on the Global Pay user interface in May this year and the prototype is scheduled to be presented at the Microsoft World Wide Partners Conference in Toronto this month.

Vos, who flies regularly to Manila to coordinate the project with Gurango, said he is pleased with results so far. In fact, I would have to say that WEBWORKS OS did a better job than we probably could have ourselves. We are proud to be working with this team and look forward to a long-term partnership."
