Buhl Data Service starts public Beta-test of Sceneo TVcentral

Buhl Data Service today announced the beginning of the public Beta-test of Sceneo TVcentral. The Media-Center software allows to display PC data and applications on the TV screen in an optimised way and to navigate PC applications with the TV remote control. The Beta-version is available to all users in the “Free Downloads” area of the Sceneo website at http://www.sceneo.tv.

No registration is necessary to download the software. But users who choose to register themselves as “Official Beta-Testers” during the installation process will receive a special “Beta-Tester discount” worth 30 Euros on the final version of TVcentral, which will be released in autumn and is going to be sold for 79.95 Euros.

The Beta-version comes in German, but can be easily set to English by simply exchanging the language files with the configuration tool. It has no restrictions regarding its functionality, but does not contain all the features of the full version, which will provide LiveTV with Timeshifting and EPG, Internet browsing, eMail-access via POP3 and access of MS Outlook Contacts and Calendar. Other services like ISDN will be supported in the full version as well.

Support for the Beta-version is provided through the Support Forum at the Sceneo website. To be able to post in the “TVcentral Beta-Test”-Forum, users will have to complete a short registration as a forum member. Apart from choosing a user name and a password, no personal data will be collected.

TVcentral allows users to organise, navigate and access all their media files (images, movies, mp3s) with one central interface.
