Design house Sucré by Medina Smith announces the international launch of their Spring/Summer 2005 collection of couture gemstone jewels and in less than three months of the label's launch, Sucré pulls off the impossible.

Summer 2004 marks the international launch of Spring/Summer 2005 collections from Sucré by Medina Smith, a couture gemstone jewelry line specializing in unusual precision-cut shapes such as spirals, checkerboards, and twisted drops. Headed by designer Medina Smith, Sucré has managed within three short months of its launch the impossible: international representation through fashion showrooms in Paris, France and the United States; the launch of a new lower-cost collection, Sucré Studio, designed to tap into middle contemporary fashion markets; nomination for a prestigious fashion design award in the Best Designer Accessories category; and upcoming features in the international press through French haute couture magazine Oui and Asia-based industry magazine Jewellery World Review.

(PRWEB) July 14, 2004 -- Summer 2004 marks the international launch of Spring/Summer 2005 collections from Sucré by Medina Smith, a couture gemstone jewelry line specializing in unusual precision-cut shapes such as spirals, checkerboards, and twisted drops. Headed by designer Medina Smith, Sucré has managed within three short months of its launch the impossible: international representation through fashion showrooms in Paris, France and the United States; the launch of a new lower-cost collection, Sucré Studio, designed to tap into middle contemporary fashion markets; nomination for a prestigious fashion design award in the Best Designer Accessories category; and upcoming features in the international press through French avant-garde publication Oui and Asia-based industry magazine Jewellery World Review.

We changed our focus from pure stonework, to hand-wrought and burnished precious metals- matte 24kt gold and fine silver-while continuing to incorporate our signature precision gemstone cuts." The industry responded with unusual intensity, putting Sucré in the unique position to choose between showrooms, both domestic and international. We were able to take our time and sign with the showrooms we felt most comfortable with. In less than three months, we were being represented internationally." Now represented by Confidential Agency Showroom of Paris, France and LIT Studio Showroom of the United States, Sucré by Medina Smith is now distributed worldwide to specialty boutiques and department stores throughout the world.

The Spring/Summer 2005 collections from Sucré by Medina Smith features their signature candy-colored gemstone combinations such as Lavender Amethyst & Smoked Quartz; Citrine & Lemon Quartz; and Rose Quartz and Deep Amethyst – now paired with hand-wrought, hand-burnished, and hand-fired precious metals such as matte 24kt gold and pure, fine silver. With organic and undone" metals and couture, flawless" gemstones, Sucré has managed to carve an unusual niche in a market over-flowing with gemstone jewelry.

The newly launched Sucré Studio collection offers the same signature color combinations, sans spirals and twists. Sucré Studio offers young women an affordable alternative to our couture line, featuring virtually flawless gemstones and precision cuts at a fraction of the cost." Priced between $60-120 USD, Sucré Studio may be found at contemporary fashion stores and showrooms within the US and Europe.

Lastly, Sucré by Medina Smith has received notification that they are among the nominees for Best Designer – Accessories in what remains the largest international fashion competition in the world (past winners have included Louis Verdad, Chaiken, and Shoshanna). Although happy to receive such a prestigious nomination, designer Medina Smith remains nearly silent regarding the details of this honor. Sucré is in the running as a nominee; if we become finalists, THEN Ill talk", she laughs. But we simply feel honored to have the opportunity to compete with such amazing design talent."

With a background in soft-goods research, Smith has worked for financial powerhouses such as Lehman Brothers, Société Générale Cowen Securities and Banco Santander. But, forget the clichéd notion of a jewelry line's conception due to lack of unique jewelry. As Smith states, I simply wanted to create gemstone jewelry as couture as my Jimmy Choos."

Sucré is currently available online at www.sucrejewelry.com; through showrooms in Paris, France and the US; at better specialty boutiques in Beverly Hills and Paris, France; and contemporary stores throughout the US and Europe. Prices range from $45 - $1300. For more information, contact Sucré PR at +49 (0)160 846 1979. The Oui magazine Sucré feature hits newsstands early September, 2004.
