Servergraph Expands Enterprise Features

Latest release adds Veritas NetBackup support and role-based management

Austin, TX (PRWEB) July 14, 2004 -- Servergraph today released the latest version of its agentless software that manages and automates complex backup environments. Servergraph 3.5 expands its feature set by adding service level agreement (SLA) reporting, role-based authentication for administrator, operator, and user roles, and client-level reporting for Veritas NetBackup.

"Servergraph continues to evolve as an enterprise-class tool for management and automation of large backup environments," said Mark Roberts, president of Servergraph. "To date our software has been recognized as the leader in management and automation for IBM's Tivoli Storage Manager software. With the addition of client-level reporting for Veritas NetBackup, we have significantly broadened our market potential and focus."

Every company has a different way of grouping and presenting information. Information might be based on geography, or by company reporting structure, or some way that we haven't heard of yet
Servergraph is agentless reporting and analysis software that pays for itself in three to six months, according to Don Becker, vice president of sales for Servergraph. "Servergraph spots trends long before problems occur, allowing users to take action and realign system resources. Successful enterprise backup requires the correct operation of networks, storage servers, disk arrays, tape libraries, and human intervention. Servergraph helps our customers manage their entire data management system proactively to achieve 100 percent backup success."

The most pervasive design change to Servergraph 3.5 is the addition of role-based authentication. "Our customers have requested more control over the information that Servergraph presents," said Don Becker, vice president of sales for Servergraph. "Our new role-based management allows storage administrators to tailor the information that users can see. This capability extends across our Web reports, e-mail notifications and reports, and chargeback billing reports."

Servergraph 3.5 also includes enhanced drill-down reporting based on service level agreement (SLA) style reports. "Every company has a different way of grouping and presenting information. Information might be based on geography, or by company reporting structure, or some way that we haven't heard of yet," said Becker. "Servergraph can create any type of grouping for user-level reports." The SLA reports allow quick drill-down to isolate problems across regions, data centers, storage/media servers, or users.
