SanBlaze Technology Delivers Fibre Channel Target Emulation System

The SANBlaze VirtuaLUN Fibre Channel Target Emulation System delivers an extremely cost effective approach to Fibre Channel device development and testing. The VirtuaLUN can emulate hundreds of Fibre Channel disk drives for read/write performance testing environments, with no initiator side software changes required. The VirtuaLUN is the ideal tool for Fibre Channel HBA, switch and infrastructure development and testing in a real world, wire speed environment. The VirtuaLUN system reduces the need to deploy large farms of physical "scratch" disks, providing high performance, non-volatile disk media at a fraction of the cost of physical disks.

Maynard, MA (PRWEB) July 15, 2004 -- SANBlaze Technology, Inc., a provider of unique and leading edge networking and storage solutions, today introduced the VirtuaLUN, a Fibre Channel Target Emulation System. The SANBlaze VirtuaLUN system delivers an extremely cost effective approach to Fibre Channel device development and testing. The VirtuaLUN emulates Fibre Channel disk drives for read/write performance testing environments, with no initiator side software changes required. The VirtuaLUN system reduces the need to deploy large farms of physical "scratch" disks, providing high performance, non-volatile disk media at a fraction of the cost of physical disks.

The VirtuaLUN is the ideal tool for Fibre Channel HBA, switch and infrastructure development and testing in a real world, wire speed environment. It is a unique product for any environment that requires varying amounts of fibre channel drives for testing, QA or proof of concept, eliminating the cost and complexity of deploying disk systems. The ability to rapidly change disk counts and configurations as well as simulate a wide range of target conditions provides immediate ROI in the form of saved time and money.

The VirtuaLUN is available with two, four or six Fibre Channel Ports running at 1 or 2 Gbps. Each port can be configured to present up to 480 virtual "disks" or LUNs to devices under test, providing a huge cost savings over building the same capability using real disk drives. A fully configured VirtuaLUN can emulate in excess of 2800 LUNs.

The system occupies a 1U rack space, providing test labs with a highly optimized test environment in a compact footprint. An integrated, easy to use web based interface allows configuration, re-configuration, error injection and monitoring from any remote system.

The VirtuaLUN is available immediately.
