THUGS" Author Talks About Her Own Experiences with Bad Boys
Author of the hot new book THUGS ARE FOR FUN admits there is a good, bad and ugly side to dating thugs.
(PRWEB) July 20, 2004 -- J.Gail, the author of the drama filled new fiction book THUGS ARE FOR FUN is talking about her own personal experiences with thugs. Her stories range from amusing to downright embarrassing.
I have dated some of the worst kind of thugs," the author admits. Ive seen some of the craziest things while living in Philly. Some situations I have to think back and laugh on, some I still shake my head and feel stupid about getting involved with in the first place, and some are cherished memories."
The author, who writes under a pen name to remain semi-anonymous for personal reasons, is no amateur when it comes to bad men. She says she believes that thugs are attracted to her for her positive energy, the fact that she has no kids, and for her sweet gentle demeanor.
"I always seem to end up with thugs that are well-respected, liked, and/or feared. But that doesnt necessarily mean they have it all together up there," the 24-year old says pointing to her temple. I remember I went out with this guy about 3 years ago from Southwest Philly, a bonafide thug. He was like the neighborhood hustle man, selling CDs and videos. He went to jail for assaulting another man with a liquor bottle. I got a lot of my inspiration for Terrell, a character in my book Thugs are for Fun, from this person. One night we were together at my house – and he passed out drunk in my room. The next day I saw that he had urinated in my bed. I was disgusted, and later found out that he was on drugs. That came as a surprise to me at first but then I had to really consider who he was. He was an alright guy, but had no self-control whatsoever. I was upset at the time, but now when I look back on it I have to laugh."
This other guy I dated was a real charmer. A thug, well respected and loved by his circle of friends. We broke up because he was sooo selfish – he would come into money, go shopping and not buy me a thing. Even though by his own words, I was like his ‘wife. When I got fed up with his selfishness, I broke up with him. He begged to see me, saying he had something to show me. I was thinking he probably bought me a nice gift to win me back. Instead he showed up at my door wearing a $3,000 mink coat. That was his big surprise – his new mink. He was such an idiot." J.Gail says shaking her head.
J.Gail has story after story like these, which is probably why writing her debut book Thugs are for Fun came naturally. Despite her unexplained inclination towards thugs and street types, J.Gail knows when to call it quits. Sometimes as soon as one day into a connection.
Most of the guys Ive dated may have been jerks, but they were jerks in a way that makes you want to just laugh at them, they had good hearts. But some guys you just have a feeling about – like something just isnt right. I can remember one guy so clearly. I went out on a first date with him, I looked in his eyes and felt my insides crumple like a piece of paper. Needless to say that was the last time I saw him in life. He was bad news. Im no fool."
