Vdig Xtra for Director on Windows

New Release from ABSTRACT PLANE incorporating 2 Xtras for Macromedia Director - Vdig (video digitizer) - MovieSplitter (manipulate & export of QuickTime movies to many formats)

(PRWEB) July 26, 2004 -- Abstract Plane's Vdig Xtra for Windows - Version 1.2.0 . This Video Digitizer Xtra is a software plug-in that allows Microsoft Windows based applications written using Director, to capture Video and Audio from hardware inputs; and, uniquely, export and manipulate it in any format supported by QuickTime, using some simple Lingo commands.

The package contains two Xtras for Macromedia Director on Windows -

1. The Vdig Xtra allows the viewing and capture of video from a camera or other video source

2. The MovieSplitter Xtra allows the manipulation and export of QuickTime movies to many formats

These Xtras allow inclusion of these functions in projects, using some simple Lingo commands.

To capture video and audio in a movie, simply place a VdigXtra sprite into your score.

All of the capture functions are "child handlers" for the sprite, and video can be previewed or captured to hard disk in any compression format supported by QuickTime.

You can export pieces of a QuickTime movie to a new, self-contained QuickTime movie using any of the many export components supported by QuickTime.

This version of the Xtra features the inclusion of Abstract Plane's recently released Vdig Version 1.2.0 incorporating many new features, and ensuring the highest level of reliability across all recognized capture devices - PCI cards, USB WebCams or DV cameras connected via FireWire.

The software requires the following items to be installed:
Macromedia Director 8.5 or later
Microsoft Windows 98SE/2000/ME
QuickTime for Windows version 6 or later
Abstract Plane Vdig Video Capture Component
(installer supplied)

The software is available for download from
http://www.abstractplane.com/products/vdig_xtra.jsp

Fully functional 14 day demo versions are available.
