Rent a Family. A barenakedfamily?

This is an innovative approach to fundraising created by The BNFamily Foundation, a newly formed non-profit dedicated to Empowering Today’s Families. Families nationwide are joining the Rent a Family fundraiser performing chores for charity raising seed money to benefit Family life.

You can rent a car, rent a house, and rent a boat ~ now you can ‘Rent a Family’, a barenakedfamily? This is an innovative approach to fundraising created by The BNFamily Foundation, a newly formed non-profit dedicated to Empowering Today’s Families. Families nationwide are joining the Rent a Family fundraiser performing chores for charity raising seed money to benefit Family life. The founders are in the San Diego area washing cars, dogs, windows, houses, yards, and whatever else an entire family can do in exchange for donations to a great cause, Family.

The founders are not nudists, but Jenn, Greg, Austin, Kesley, and Sunny have designed their Family life differently than most. The name barenakedfamily comes from their philosophy “with less, for Family”. In May 2001 they traded Dad’s career and most of their possessions for worldly experience to live and travel full time in an RV. This decision to take back their Family developed into the non-profit organization.

“We’re making lots of new friends and have funny stories” says Sunny, youngest founder at eight years old. “A baby came to the door naked” giggles nine year old Kesley. “Some dude gave us $5 for nothing and only spoke Spanish or something” says eleven year old Austin. “This fundraiser gets entire families working together resulting in a big celebration for their community… like it used to be” adds Mom Jenn White. “We’re meeting some great families on the doorsteps of America and want to be inundated with jobs to do what we’re here for ~ organize another local BNFamily Fuzion!”

A BNFamily Fuzion! is a Live Rock Concert for Families. The volume is turned down so it is safe and exciting for ‘Babies to Grannies’. A Family attends for less than adults with a ‘Parents Rock Free’ promotion. Family Night Life is created with local rock bands, rock show lighting, glowsticks, body lights, and LEDs. It’s not unusual to see Kid mosh pits, Granny headbanging, Grandpa groupies, Baby crowd surfing, Daddy air guitar, and the occasional Mama stage dive! “We are redefining Family through the universal language of music. We use the relevance of Rock n Roll to strengthen Families.” Comments Greg White, Dad.

Goals of the foundation include frequent local Fuzion! events in communities nationwide and a traveling music festival by and for family sponsored by local and national business. The BNFamily Foundation Mission: “We are committed to bringing parents and kids together in a neutral environment without focusing on one or the other. We strive to inspire families to design their Lives around Playing, Learning, and Working together to build and empower family relationships.”

Dozens of Families, Kragen Auto Parts, and Printing Solutions (Escondido) are already helping with the Rent a Family fundraiser. Local Fuzion! is coming together with Guitar World in Escondido providing a sound and light show and the Dub Saints band wanting to play. Publicity, a venue, another band, and funding is still needed. Anyone can help as a volunteer family, by hiring a Rent a Family, by donation, or through sponsorship as a local business.
