New York (PRWEB) July 30, 2004 -- A new star is born: Monarchia International, a Delaware corporation, announces a merger with New York based Matt Brothers, importers and distributors of fine wines. Monarchia International is owned by Monarchia Holding, which is also the parent company to a Budapest, Hungary based wine production and distribution entity, Monarchia Boraszati Kft. The joint company, dba/Monarchia Matt International (MMI), will import and and distribute fine wines both in the United States and the European Union.
Current portfolio includes the Monarchia Estate Selection of Hungary, Kartauserhof and Schmelz of Austria, Geografico, La Sera, Anime, Terrazzo, Ascheri Giacomo, Rocca Bernarda and Malgra of Italy, Cune of Spain, and Yamhill of Oregon. MMI will have additional brands from the USA, Germany, Austria, New Zealand, Spain and France arriving in early fall.
As a vertically integrated entity, MMI has all the elements of production, import, export, distribution and retail sales. Monarchia Hungarian Estate Wines have created a rapidly climbing brand in the United States, and for the first time high-end Hungarian wines have appeared on premier restaurant wine lists in major US markets. Monarchia's Hungarian wines sell at $13-$90 for red and white still wines, with $65-$200 for Tokaji Aszu dessert wines.
The Matt Brothers Italian, Spanish and American portfolio round-out the picture with a similar and consistent brand-building philosophy as employed by Monarchia. "This allows our companies to share a similar mentality and philosophical approach to positioning, brand management, and distribution both domestically and in key world markets" comments Monarchia CMO Monika M. Elling. "All new wines considered by MMI from any producing region must meet our guidelines for long-term brand management."
The companys management team is comprised of professionals with other-industry business and financial background, not just wine experience. With MMI, we will attain a high level of vertical integration, as well as the ability to keep costs down while maintaining benchmark quality. This, coupled with a management team of extremely high business acumen on both sides of the Atlantic, will result in a distinctively new and exciting model for the wine industry at large" comments MMI CEO, Joern Tittel, formerly of Pelloneda LLC.
MMI Management and ownership is comprised of Nimrod J. Kovacs as Chairman, CEO Joern Tittel, Chief Marketing Officer Monika Elling, and Partners Barry & Peter Matt.
