Athens Olympic Games to Get Support from U.S. Business Leaders

Travel to Greece in August as an act of economic patriotism. Enjoy the world uniting for the Summer Games in Athens. We are urging business leaders from across the nation to join "Support The Games" and demonstrate their resolve that the Olympics must continue as the world's biggest sporting event where all nations join together.

Irvine, CA (PRWEB) July 31, 2004 -- "Support The Games" founded to encourage business leaders from across the nation to travel to Athens in August as an act of economic patriotism.

Founders of "Support The Games ," Mitch Goldstone and Carl Berman lead this non-profit enterprise to spend money in Greece, wave American flags and urge other business leaders from across the nation and abroad to also travel to Athens and support the Games.

To preserve the message that represents the Olympic ideals of promoting international peace and understanding which mobilizes the youth of the world, Mitch Goldstone and Carl Berman, co-owners of 30 Minute Photos Etc. and www.30minphotos.com -- a national online photo service, based in Irvine, CA, are supporting the Games by traveling to Greece as spectators and lead "Support The Games." The entrepreneurs have attended past Summer Games around the world as fans of the global gathering ever since the mid-1990s, but they insist that this time the message of Americans traveling to Greece is extra important.

As the eyes of the world will be on Athens in August, Goldstone and Berman will be attending the Games as goodwill ambassadors to remind the world that the Games message -- a spirit of friendly competition -- is the reason these events are the most important Summer Games ever held and that it needs everyones attention and support.

"Our hope is that the same type of national grassroots campaign we launched to support the airlines and commerce in New York City after September 11, 2001 will take hold as people from across the nation and abroad book flights to Athens this August. We are troubled that so many tickets to the athletic events remain unsold, which translates into a worrisome message about the survivability of the spirit of the games," remarked Goldstone. To mark the one-year memorial to 9/11, the business leaders created a campaign called "Fly With Courage" to again support the airlines as they traveled from Spain to NYC and Los Angeles all on Sept. 11, 2002. "Although Athens is the smallest city to host the games, these are the most important Summer Games ever," noted Berman, "Today, more than ever the games need our attention and support, not just by tuning in on television, but by traveling to Athens and becoming part of history." "The alternative," notes Goldstone "is that lack of attendance and tourism will ruin not only the nation of Greece, but also the relevance of the Olympic games." These games simply must succeed, and it will as long as people book flights to Athens and support the spirit of the Olympic message.

Goldstone and Berman are preparing an Interactive website to promote their campaign to support the summer games, which will include links to travel agents and other useful sites for collecting information on how to make last-minute travel plans to attend.

Goldstone and Berman founded 30 Minute Photos Etc. in 1990 and are local community activists whos creative local and national campaigns have garnered media coverage from around the nation. They also own www.30minphotos.com, a national online photo service for turning digital camera images into real Kodak photos.
