Oregon Army National Guard Teacher Asks for Help

Oregon Army National Guard's CSM Brunk W. Conley, a teacher now on active duty at Camp Cooke in Iraq. He explains children in Iraq need the most basic school supplies that we take for granted.

(PRWEB) August 1, 2004 --CSM Brunk W. Conley is a teacher now on active duty at Camp Cooke in Iraq. He is asking for your help in a recent letter saying everyday he sees the needs of the Iraqi people all around him, and it is fair to say that the majority of them are glad were here. One simple way that we can help is by encouraging their children, they are the future of Iraq.

He asks for help as they begin a huge drive to help gather basic school supplies for the upcoming Baghdad school year. These children are dreadfully short on the most basic things necessary to complete their schoolwork. We have over 650 schools in our district alone and we have a variety of socio-economic levels.

The bottom line is whether you are for the war or against the war, you cant be against children.

These children would love to receive some of the most basic school supplies that we take for granted. We are asking for your help if you can afford it. These kids jump for joy when the most basic every day run of the mill pencil is handed out. Attached is a list that explains what the children in Iraq need, and how to send supplies if you are so inclined to help.

I would like to wrap this up by thanking you all for your love and support. I see instances each day of our great Americans sending support to the troops over here. I can tell you they appreciate it and it sure makes their tough job easier. I hope that all is well with you and your families. We all are wishing you all the best.
