New York, NY, August 16, 2004 – Sabratec Ltd., the leading provider of rapid legacy integration solutions announced today that it has entered into a global partnership agreement with Compuware Corporation (NASDAQ: CPWR). As a result of this agreement Compuware and Sabratec will jointly market globally an integrated Java development platform for legacy applications, based on OptimalJ, Compuware's advanced, model-driven pattern-based development environment incorporated with Sabratec's ApplinX innovative legacy integration solution.

"We are excited that Compuware has chosen ApplinX as the legacy solution to be integrated with OptimalJ," said Orna Mintz-Dov, Sabratec CEO. "The combined solution offers enterprises unparalleled effective solution for modernizing their legacy applications."

OptimalJ accelerates J2EE development by generating working applications directly from visual models. Through the power of patterns and model-driven application design, OptimalJ decreases the need for extensive coding and design skills, and delivers high productivity and consistency. Used together with Sabratec ApplinX, legacy business logic and related data can be automatically encapsulated or extended into Web services in a low-risk and reliable approach, without the need to alter any legacy assets or to write a single line of code.

Sabratec ApplinX leverages legacy host-based business processes into standards-based Web services. By importing the Web services WSDL definitions generated by ApplinX, OptimalJ generates the necessary J2EE components to invoke the Web service, based on models and patterns, taking the complexity away. As a result, J2EE applications developed with OptimalJ can automatically incorporate host-based business processes based on Web services.

"The continuous financial pressure to reduce costs and remain competitive drives many mainframe-based organizations to connect different parts of their business processes using a proven service-oriented architecture approach," said Chris Sirosky, Compuware Global Sales Director for OptimalJ. "Sabratec is an ideal partner for Compuware in this regard. The combination of OptimalJ and ApplinX provides a best-of-breed legacy modernization solution, allowing companies to maximize the return on the investment from their legacy systems."
