New Efficient and Smaller Herlt Wood Gasifier
Advanced Biotechnology Inc. announces the new PowerFRED HN-13 HERLT Gasifier from Germany.
Germany (PRWEB) August 16, 2004 -- The HN-13 is a low cost log wood boiler designed for residential and small commercial applications. It is as efficient as the larger HERLT Gasifiers already being offered by Advanced Biotechnology Inc. The PowerFRED can supply heat and hot water for almost any size of home and uses only renewable fuel (wood) energy.
The main difference between the HN – 13 and the larger HERLT models other than the size of the PowerFRED, is the combustion and gasification chambers have been reversed. A refractory lined gasification chamber, surrounded by a specially packed insulating layer, keeps heat loss and oxygen levels very low, resulting in very few inert gases and burns at high efficiency. This gas is immediately delivered to the combustion chamber that works in a catalytic mode, allowing a combustion process so clean it achieves emission values that comply with standards for natural gas heating. The chimney has a double wall lined with mineral wool that reaches 100 degrees C during use, resulting in very minimal condensation and long life expectancy.
The HN – 13 is rated at 13 kW (44,400 BTU/hour) with an output range between 12 – 17 kW. This boiler is patented worldwide and has the typical arched shape of the HERLT line of wood boilers. It has a large holding capacity for firewood, minimizing labor and maximizing operating time. The wood generally does not have to be split, and can even be used when slightly damp. Depending on the energy demand required, an efficient water-heat storage system can mean the boiler needs to be operated only every 2-4 days, and once a week for a high quality energy saving house. The HN - 13 Gasifier will handle wood logs up to 60 cm (24") in length.
