Hit NBC TV Show SCRUBS Celebrities To Take Part in MS 150 Mile Bay-To-Bay Bike Tour In October; The show donates four walk-on roles to raise funds
The Orange County Chapter of National MS Society chooses MAYO Communications to announce the Sept. 7-21, 2004 eBay auction and fundraiser.
Anaheim, CA (PRWEB) August 16, 2004 - Orange County Chapter of the National Multiple Sclerosis (MS) Society, announced today (August 13, 2004) that several members of the hit NBC TV show SCRUBS crew are participating in Multiple Sclerosis (MS) 150 Bay to Bay Bike Tour (www.ms150baytobay.com) on Saturday and Sunday, October 2-3, 2004, a fundraiser for the National MS Society.
The TV show has donated four walk-on roles to raise funds for the event and the MS Society plans to auction them on eBay September 7-21, 2004.
The Orange County Chapter of National MS Society has chosen MAYO Communications to
announce developments to the media on the auction and fundraiser. The MS 150 Bike Tour is a 150 mile two-day cycling adventure that takes riders down California's beautiful south coast from Huntington State Beach to Mission Bay, San Diego, Saturday and Sunday, Oct. 2 -- 3, 2004.
MAYO Communications (www.MayoCommunications.com) is a full service Los Angeles public relations firm with corporate and nonprofit 501C business-based clients such as the Los Angeles County Economic Development Corporation (LAEDC) and West Hollywood Fashion Designer Samora Designs.
In 2003, the MS 150 had 1,400 riders and raised more than $1.2 million to fund research into the cause and cure for MS and for services for people with MS and their families in Orange and San Diego Counties," explained President Jamie MacDonald, National MS Society, Orange County Chapter. The MS 150 Bike Tour, unlike a racing event, is designed to provide a scenic, challenging ride for both the experienced cyclist and the energetic novice. With the help of our sponsors, we are able to provide riders with a truly first class event."
This year the MS 150 Bay to Bay Bike Tour will begin at Huntington State Beach on Saturday, October 2nd. On day two the cyclists will head to the finish line in Mission Bay, San Diego. They will return to Huntington State Beach in full service coaches on Sunday, October 3rd.
The MS 150 was first conducted in 1983 and from that time has been the fastest growing special event conducted by the National Multiple Sclerosis Society. The fun and festive Luau party in Carlsbad is a major highlight of the weekend where riders, volunteers, family and friends let loose and unwind after a good day of riding.
MS crippled my mother for 30 years and our family witnessed her suffering for so many years. Anything we can do to further the cause of finding a cure, we will be first in line to help out," said Executive Vice President George McQuade, MAYO Communications. This is a great event."
The MS 150 Bike Tour represents the only cycling event by a national health organization that is endorsed by the Bicycling Touring Group of America.
