Discipline Global Mobile announces new releases: New King Crimson Box Set due in October

New offerings from Robert Fripp's Discipline Global Mobile including a King Crimson box set and DVD. New sub-label announced.

(PRWEB) August 19, 2004 -- After a brief hiatus Discipline Global Mobile announces plans to release newly acquired back catalog of King Crimson through its newly formed U.S. counterpart Inner Knot.

Distributed by Ryko Distribution, Inner Knot/DGM will release a new DVD Neal and Jack and Me on August 31 and a four CD box set entitled The 21st Century Schizoid Guide to King Crimson on October 27.

"After scaling back on releases the last few years, we are obviously thrilled that the older King Crimson titles, from In The Court Of The Crimson King through Thrak, have made it back home. We look forward to working with RYKO Distribution to re-introduce these titles to retail over the next year, as well as the 1980's DVD and forthcoming box set," says Amy Priore, president of Inner Knot, which is based out of Los Angeles.

The 21st Century Schizoid Guide to King Crimson will serve as a retrospective piece on King Crimsons early period from 1969 to 1973. Many of todays top bands including Tool, Radiohead, The Mars Volta and Nine Inch Nails claim this early period Crimson as a major influence.

The box set will include two CDs of re-mastered tracks from the classic King Crimson albums: In the Court of the Crimson King, The Wake of Poseidon, Island and Lizard. It will also include Groon" the B side of the Cat Food" single. An additional two CDS will feature live material from the period including a previously unreleased track. The box set serves as a celebration of the ownership rights of the King Crimson catalog returning home to Robert Fripp.

Inner Knot/DGM will also release a new DVD Neal and Jack and Me on August 31. The DVD includes two concerts: Three of a Perfect Pair – Live in Japan 1984" and The Noise – Live in Frejus 1982." Both concerts were previously available on VHS but have been out of print. Extras on the DVD include the original Sleepless" video, road photos from bassist Tony Levin and a complete Discography.

Inner Knot will also independently release material from other artists. The label has recently released The Plague of the Crafty Guitarists, a collection of original works from a host of Guitar Craft Musicians. Other Guitar Craft alumni have projects out on Inner Knot, Tom Redmonds The Hellboys just released Cha Cha with the Hellboys, Bremen Town Musicians have released its second album, Marijuana Girl and Steve Ball has released a 3 CD box set through the label.
