The Bloque Urban Music Series is shining as these two bright, rising female stars Tori Alamaze and Tocarra set to electrify the Bloque Sound Stage at the series kickoff on September 15, 2004 at Eleven50 located in the Soul of Midtown.
This former make-up artist, Tori Alamaze, has moved from the background to the driverÂs seat as an emerging vocalist. ToriÂs rise to fame began with a first place finish at the 2003 BMI Atlanta Urban Showcase and since has been featured on BMIÂs ÂBlack Music MonthÂ CD, Hidden Beach/Sony ÂHidden Hits Vol. 1Â, and most recently sang background vocals on the Multi-Platinum, 3-time Grammy Award Winning, Album of the Year Speakerboxx/The Love Below ÂOutKast (LaFace). Tori AlamazeÂs highly anticipated project is in the works and features tracks produced by Cee-Lo and Traxx of Mood Swing Soundscaping Production. Tori AlamazeÂs is truly an important link in a vastly growing, dominant Neo-Soul genre.
New to the music scene, Tocarra has endured many of lifeÂs lessons and is poised for stardom. Tocarra possess an unbridled passion for her music and this is visible through tracks like ÂHappyÂ, ÂLet it GoÂ, and an ode to an ex ÂYou DonÂt Love Me (Like You Used To)Â. Tocarra is currently working on her first project with writer Rico Love (Usher) and producers The Corna Boyz (Jagged Edge, Ciara, Omarrion). Her passion for music, coupled with her sweet, sexy voice Tocarra is set to usher in the next generation of Hip Hop Soul.
