Senatorial Candidate Alan Keyes, CURE founder Star Parker and over 40 African American pastors will hold a press conference on the Constitutional Amendment on Marriage at the Lincoln Memorial in Washington D.C.on Saturday, August 28th which is the 41st Anniversary of Martin Luther King, Jr. I Have a Dream" Speech. The press conference will begin at 9am.

Washington, DC (PRWEB) August 26, 2004 -- Senatorial Candidate Alan Keyes, CURE founder Star Parker and over 40 African American pastors will hold a press conference on the Constitutional Amendment on Marriage at the Lincoln Memorial on Saturday, August 28th which is the 41st Anniversary of Martin Luther King, Jr. I Have a Dream" Speech. The press conference will begin at 9am.

Star Parker, founder and president of the Coalition of Urban Renewal and Education (CURE), the Honorable Alan Keyes, Republican U.S. Senatorial candidate (Illinois); and approximately 40 black pastors from across the United States, including the Reverend Lyle Dukes (Harvest Life Changers Church, Woodbridge, VA); the Reverend D.L. Foster (Restoration Sanctuary International Church, Atlanta, GA); and the Reverend John Heath (House of Mercy and senior advisor to Governor Ehrlich of Maryland) will meet at the Lincoln Memorial in support of traditional marriages, between man and woman.

Today we stand at a crossroads in American culture and morality, the likes of which has never been witnessed during the entire history of our Republic. The issue of homosexual marriage and its possible legalization has come to a fevered pitch and is now at the forefront of the American public square" stated Parker in the Policy Report of CURE, co-authored by Phillip Johnson.

In attendance will include pastors from California, the District of Columbia, Georgia, Illinois, Maryland, New Jersey, North Carolina, Texas and Virginia. Star Parker recently organized CURE.NET, a community of African American pastors representing 100 churches and 30,000 congregation members. She will be introduced by the Reverend Shelley Henderson, a former Public Liaison to President George W. Bush.

Additional participants will include CURE.NET members as well as Canadian Senator Anne Cools (Ontario). The press conference is in support of a U.S. Constitutional amendment to define marriage.
