Atlanta, GA (PRWEB) August 27, 2004 -- The Celebration of Nuclear Excellence and Diversity” luncheon at the NTA 76th Annual Conference will feature Dr. Larry R. Foulke as the guest speaker at the at noon on Wednesday, November 10, 2004 at the Kellogg Conference Center, Tuskegee University, in Tuskegee, Alabama. Dr. Foulke, the immediate past President of the American Nuclear Society (ANS) and Chief Scientist, Space Engineering Activity,at Bechtel Bettis, Inc, is a renown and distinguished expert in the international nuclear energy community and industry.
Co-hosted by the National Technical Association (NTA) and the American Association of Blacks in Energy (AABE), this luncheon is expected to bring together some of the best and brightest African Americans in Nuclear Energy and other technical industries. A number of Small Businesses, Corporations, Colleges and Universities engaged in the Nuclear Industry are expected to attend. Mr. Magwood will also be the morning keynote speaker kicking off the start of the NTA Conference.

Featured Speaker: Dr. Larry Foulke
A supporter of diversity, Dr. Foulke is an internationally renowned nuclear energy expert and global leader who has traveled extensively to meet and connect fellow nuclear scientists, researchers and professional societies to the American Nuclear Society. He was instrumental in initiating and is currently involved in outreach activities of the Pittsburgh ANS Section to local science teachers and students. Dr. Foulke has participated and spoke at a number of forums and other venues that encourage youth to pursue careers in the nuclear industry. His strong support and co-creation of the Grassroots Initiative at ANS brought considerable and much needed credibility to the Nuclear Industry. A well published author of a number of papers and articles on Nuclear Energy topics, Dr. Foulkes latest paper presentation,” Diversity in the Engineering Profession - Issues, Initiatives, and Improvements” will be presented at the ABET Annual meeting in October 2004.
Dr. Foulke is a graduate of Kansas State University with BS and MS in Nuclear Engineering, and Massachusetts Institute of Technology, where he received a Ph.D in Nuclear Engineering in 1967. A former Fulbright Fellow at the Institute for Atomenergi in Kjeller, Norway, Dr. Foulke recently served as President of the American Nuclear Society from 2003-2004.
