A Gripping Interview With the New, Edgier Derrick Brooks Kicks Off Pewter Report's Bucs Training Camp Coverage

The Tampa Bay Buccaneers, led by seven-time Pro Bowl linebacker Derrick Brooks, are ready to report to training camp and Pewter Report's website, PewterReport.com, will be the place where Bucs fans go for news, analysis and the inside scoop that comes out of Disney's Wide World of Sports complex.

Tampa, FL (PRWEB) August 11, 2004 -- The Tampa Bay Buccaneers, led by seven-time Pro Bowl linebacker Derrick Brooks, are ready to report to training camp and Pewter Report's website, PewterReport.com, will be the place where Bucs fans go for news, analysis and the inside scoop that comes out of Disney's Wide World of Sports complex.

Still hot off the presses, Pewter Report's Training Camp issue offers the inside scoop on the revamped Bucs, position-by-position previews, answers to 20 critical camp questions, and a must-read cover story on Brooks, titled "This Year ... It's Personal." In this feature, a very revealing Brooks looks at leading his team into the 2004 season without Warren Sapp and John Lynch.

"New relationships have to be formed, and we need to get rid of old ones," Brooks told Pewter Report. "It was the same way that I felt prior to us going to the Super Bowl. I said it to [my teammates], I just didn't come out and say it publicly. It was personal letting go of Coach [Tony] Dungy and accepting Coach Gruden. That was personal, but I didn't come out and say it
publicly. Now I am, to let everybody know. It's time to move on [without Sapp and Lynch]."

The new, edgier Brooks also tells Pewter Report what went wrong in 2003, and how much it hurt him to lose Tampa Bay's homefield advantage last year while posting an embarrassing 3-5 record at Raymond James Stadium.

"If you can't defend your own backyard ... that's one of the things that I'm saying is personal," Brooks said. "We lost our edge last year. People came in our backyard and took food out of our house and left. They left us nothing to eat. That's what I mean when I say it's personal."
