Get Real at the PCOSA Fashion Show

Women from around the world join forces with the Polycystic Ovarian Syndrome Association to prove they are beautiful at any size.

Englewood, CO (PRWEB) September 15, 2004 -- The Polycystic Ovarian Syndrome Association is holding their 7th annual conference "Life Stages of PCOS" at the Hilton Rye Town in Rye Brook, New York from October 7-10, 2004, with their Second Annual Fashion Show being held Saturday, October 9, 2004. The fashion show is being hosted by renowned plus size model, Tulin Reid and Sheri Wallace, associate publisher for Real Magazine. You can also expect to see the Big Dance, Dance Company perform and a special guest or two to pop up at the gala.

“Real Magazine is honored to work with PCOSA to advance the awareness of such an important cause,” says Sheri Wallace, associate publisher of Real Magazine and keynote speaker for PCSOA 2004 conference. ” PCOS is so common that Real readers will almost certainly know someone with the syndrome or have it themselves, yet most women are as of yet undiagnosed. We are glad to help spread the word about how important diagnosis and treatment are, and how life changing they can be. Real Magazine is focused on issues that real women face; PCOS is certainly one of those issues”.

"The response to this event is amazing," says Ashley Tabeling, Executive Director for PCOSA, "Every day we are getting two or more companies, volunteers or supporters who want to take part in helping us."

Up to 15 million women and girls worldwide have Polycystic Ovarian Syndrome (PCOS), a complex hormonal disorder for which there is no cure. Not only does PCOS cause devastating short term effects such as infertility, obesity, acne, hair loss and excess facial and body hair, PCOS also has a substantial negative impact on quality of life because of the disorder's multi-system conditions.

Due to many of the symptoms of PCOS, women are often left to feel less than feminine and PCOSA was formed to offer support, products and programs to enhance positive self image for women with PCOS. Donations of clothing, services and products are still being accepted, as well as applications to volunteer and model for the fashion show.

Tickets for the conference are $199.00, tickets for the fashion show only are $60.00 per person. Group discounts are available foe groups of 10 or more.
