Personal Genesis Publishing and Ron Horne, Author of Forgotten Faces – A Window Into Our Immigrant Past" Have Agreed to a New Book Series Titled Forgotten Faces – Americas Lost History"

The new series of photo-essays will explore photo-ceramic memorial portraits from twenty U.S. cities beginning with Chicago, New York, Boston, Atlanta and Philadelphia. It will also include Paris, Rome and Barcelona for its European coverage.

San Francisco, CA (PRWEB) September 22, 2004 -- "Forgotten Faces – Americas Lost Art" is the title of a new book series documenting photo-ceramic memorial portraits on tombstones from twenty major U.S. cities. Each book will photograph and present collections of ceramic images from the city's cemeteries. Photo-ceramic memorial portraits from this era contain images composed of the precious metals gold, sliver and platinum which are bonded to ceramics as fine as the best China yet made to last outdoors for centuries. Photo-ceramic portraits represent fine art that could easily be found on the walls of art or history museums. Amazingly, as Mr. Horne pointed out in his original book, they have been ignored and neglected by historians.

Ron Horne's book, Forgotten Faces – A Window Into Our Immigrant Past" published in 2004, detailed the discovery of photo-ceramic memorial portraits on tombstones as valuable but neglected American artifacts. It confirmed that every major city in the United States contains collections of undiscovered portraits that are disappearing at a steady rate. These artifacts represent entirely original photo-histories of American immigration from 1900-1945. The new series of follow-on books Forgotten Faces – Americas Lost History" will document portraits from this era in these locations and present them in a formal collection of photographs as A Window Into Our Immigrant Past" accomplished for San Francisco.

Individually, each new book in Forgotten Faces -Americas Lost History" will present completely original images of immigrants as revealed through portraits on tombstones unique to its geographic focus. Collectively, the series will represent an entirely original photo-panorama of immigrant history from the turn of the twentieth century until the end of WWII.

"Forgotten Faces" examines photo-ceramic memorial portraits as a working class tradition and explores the historical and cultural influence of immigrants who came to America from 28 different nations. Forgotten Faces – A Window Into Our Immigrant Past" was the first book ever to present an extensive collection of well preserved photo-ceramic memorial portraits. Forgotten Faces – Americas Lost History" will appropriately be the first collected work to explore the artistic merit and historical value of photo-ceramic memorial portraits on tombstones and present them as a never-before-published photo-history of Americas immigrant past from 1900-1945.

Personal Genesis Publishing expects to publish the first cities on its list in 2005. For more information see www.ForgottenFaces.org
