Utilizing the advanced techniques from Oxford Semiconductor, DAT Optic, Inc.s BigStor line implements a 32bit RISC processor, an Operational Request Block hardware coprocessor, and a high performance buffer manager. With a bandwidth of 1600Mbps buffer manager stores and passes 1394 packets without processor intervention and ORB coprocessor manages the sequences of ORB to reduce the latency and improve data throughput. Our BigStor offers the unprecedented transfer speed of up to 85MB/sec from the implemented hardware RAID 0.
BigStor is an ideal storage device for the demanding storage needs of the Video/Audio industry, Nearline Storage, and Home Media Server. The BigStor line is one of the largest external hard drives on the market that offers an impressive potential of 800GB of storage space in an approximately 5 x 5 x 12in compact form format. With this spacious capacity, the DAT Optic, Inc.s BigStor allows users to store up to three days of digital video from DV camcorders, 200 days of MP3 file (play 24/24), or 160 titles of DVD-Video (DVD-5).
