Vigin Vacations will Donate $5 Per Passenger Booking to Help Raise Funds to Spread Breast Cancer Awareness And Prevention.

Virgin Vacations today announced its partnership with the National Breast Cancer Foundation (NBCF) to offer passengers the opportunity to support cancer prevention and education. Virgin Vacations will make a special donation of $5 per person on select international packages that are booked either online or through their reservation center beginning January 1, 2005.

“We are delighted to become involved with this nonprofit, charitable foundation,” said Jeanne De Smedt, President of Virgin Vacations. “We wanted to support a cause that unfortunately affects many families. Now, when our passengers make an international travel booking with us, they’ll be assisting the NBCF in their efforts to save lives at the same time. The donations collected will go towards increasing awareness of breast cancer through education and by providing mammograms for those in need. “

Donations will be made on purchases of specific air and land inclusive international packages. Vacations within the USA, and to the Caribbean, Mexico or Canada are not included in the program and travel must originate from the United States. Passengers are advised to type “National Breast Cancer Foundation” in the comment section if they are booking online, or verbally mention it to the reservation agent when booking through the call center.

Virgin Vacations offers a varied product line, which includes their “Exclusively Virgin” vacations to the UK and Europe featuring their award-winning carrier Virgin Atlantic Airways. These packages contain value-added inclusions called the “Virgin Extras,” which consist of a unique London Guide Book, published by Virgin Books, a carry-all bag, discount dining coupons for London, as well as coupons for discounts on off-site parking at your departure airport in the States and Magellans’ Travel Supplies. Their recently expanded travel menu now includes Europe, Asia, South America, the South Pacific, and Central and South America. This additional expansion offers travelers the option to choose complete vacation packages, or individual travel requests only, such as airfare, car rental, hotel and tours. They also offer fly/drive programs, barging, biking, and walking tours, as well as transatlantic cruises featuring the new Queen Mary 2 beginning in 2005.
