(PRWEB) January 1, 2005 -- Donna Ricks is an interviewer and media consultant. Audio and transcripts of her interviews are available at http://www.firstvoicebooks.com/ Beverly Flynn has been an astrologer for over thirty years.

Donna:
The book is Astrology and Weight Control, the Jupiter / Pluto connection and the author is Beverly Flynn. Beverly, welcome to First Voice.

Beverly:
Thank you.

Donna:
Your book focuses on the significance of Jupiter.

Beverly:
I call Jupiter the enlightener. Jupiter is the largest planet in the solar system, so it makes perfect sense that it has something to do with size. It concerns expansiveness, so we can conclude that on a physical level it would have something to do with our weight. What I try to show in the book is that if Jupiter in your chart is trying to enlighten you in that particular area, and if you choose to not enlighten you, to expand you consceinceness, to take you to a higher level, then what happens is that energy sometimes shows up as excess weight.

Donna:
Tell us about the significance of Pluto.

Beverly:
Pluto I refer to as the eliminator. Pluto has an opposite role from Jupiter. It goes down into the depths of our souls and tries to bring out the things that are harming us, so were forced to deal with them. If we dont deal with them, if we dont eliminate them from our personality or from our psyche, then that garbage, for want of a better word, will stay with you, often in the form of excess weight.

Donna:
Timing for weight loss.

Beverly:
In astrology, when we talk about timing, were talking about transits or progressions. Transits generally refer to the energy coming from the outside, whereas progressions are more inside out. In other words, you feel it on the inside first before its reflected on the outside. Transiting Jupiter and transiting Pluto or progressed Pluto or Jupiter as they touch the various natal planets in your chart or the angles, the ascendant, the descendant, the mid heaven, those are opportunities in which you can try and figure out what Jupiter is asking you to do. Jupiter is asking for some kind of expansion of consciecness or Pluto is asking you to rid yourself of something in some area of your life. If you can figure out what it is and you can do that, you will have successfully completed the transit and youll be in a much better place. When you have these transits, these opportunities when you are being allowed to make some sort of change, if for whatever reason, out of fear or ignorance, or whatever, you are unsuccessful in making the change, then a lot of times at the end of the transit youll end up with a weight issue

Donna:
Beverly, thanks for speaking with us today.

Beverly:
Thank you.
