Madison Hostel Offers Community Opportunity to Discover Both Artists and Travelers

Hi-Madison Hostel and Madison-area Open Art Studios will host A Gathering," a group show offering a broad spectrum of work including painting, printmaking and photography. Artwork will be on exhibit from January 10 through February 28, 2005.

Madison, WI (PRWEB) January 3, 2005 -Madison Hostel and Madison-area Open Art Studios will host a small group show, representing many of the volunteer artists who were involved with the Open Studios Event 2004. On January 10, 2005 the artists will unveil A Gathering," showcasing a variety work at the Madison Hi Hostel, located in downtown Madison at 141 S. Butler Street. Featuring 19 artists, A Gathering" offers a cornucopia of work including painting, printmaking and photography. The public is invited to view the work in an intimate Victorian ambiance that offers a hospitable respite for weary travelers.

We were quite excited to offer artists another chance to exhibit, while working with a space that was completely new to us. Besides being a welcomed opportunity for local artists to exhibit their work, this is also a great opportunity for the community to get out and meet an artist, and hopefully, befriend one of the hostels guests. We are also selling postcards, which is very appropriate for this show." said Jesse Walters, Event Planner of Open Studios.

Enthusiastic collectors may purchase fine artwork at reasonable prices and discuss the art with the artists at the opening reception on Friday, January 14 from 5 to 9 PM, as well as throughout the duration of the show. The show will remain on exhibit at the Hi-Hostel from January 10 through February 28, 2005. The public is encouraged to visit during select hours throughout the week (Thursdays and Fridays, 11 AM to 2 PM) and on Saturdays (11 AM to 5 PM) to sit with the individual artists as they share their creative experiences that inspired the works in A Gathering."
