While most people start New YearÂs resolutions theyÂll break in a week, one manÂs determined to follow through, and heÂs got the blog to prove it.
ÂThe 365 Day Turnaround (http://turnaround365.blogspot.com) will chronicle the day-by-day efforts of Erik Peterson to lose weight, get healthy, and get out of debt by December 31, 2005.
Peterson, a San Bernardino, CA resident hopes that making his efforts public will educate and inspire others. The blog combines witty, common-sense insight with the nosy intrusiveness of a reality show.
ÂIÂm going to try whatever I can, says Peterson. ÂIf something works, IÂll tell everybody about it. If it doesnÂt, IÂll admit that, too.Â
HeÂs careful to distinguish between his site and the flurry of Âbeggar sites that were popular years ago. ÂThis blog is meant for people who couldnÂt help me if they wanted to, not people with money to throw away. The point is IÂm doing this without help, and they can, too.Â
The 6Â2Â father of two currently weighs 270 pounds and has around $17,000 in debt. Can he really get rid of all that in a year?
ÂItÂs going to happen. The potential for public humiliation should be a great motivator. But who knows? By March I might break down crying on my keyboard typing ÂI canÂt do this over and over and over. It wonÂt be easy.Â
