Commemorative Prayer Service for the Victims of the Tsunami Disaster.

Please join us for a commemorative prayer service for the victims of the Tsunami Disaster. Our gathering will be in St Richard's Church, 7540 Penn Ave S., Richfield, MN 55423 for an evening of sharing, reflection and prayer.

(PRWEB) January 1, 2005 -- By now the whole world is aware of the overwhelming human tragedy caused by the tsunami waves on the shores of southeast Asia. Thousands who were unawares of any danger were washed away to the shores of eternity. Loss of property is unimaginably high. We, the immigrants from the Asian countries of India, Indonesia and Sri Lanka stand together in solidarity with our suffering brothers and sisters in those countries. We have been touched by the awesome power of the Almighty. We plan to gather together to call upon the same Almighty God to wipe away our tears and to dispel our fears. Asians are faith-filled people belonging to different religious disciplines. Our faith comes to our aid in these and similar situations. Our gathering will be in St Richard's Church, 7540 Penn Ave S., Richfield, MN 55423 for an evening of sharing, reflection and prayer. This inter-religious prayer service will inculcate Hindu, Muslim and Christian traditions. Men and women of all religious faiths and ethnic backgrounds are welcome to the prayer service, which will begin at 4 pm on Sunday, January 2nd 2005.

The outpouring of support so far has been tremendous. We appreciate and gratefully acknowledge the generous contributions of the United Nations, the United States Government and many other agencies and associations. This tragedy is not simply something that happened thousands of miles away. The agony is felt in our neighborhoods and the wave of grief is at every ones door step. When in pain we need to stand together. Therefore we seek, not only the support of prayers, but also financial assistance from all men and women of good will. Various funds have been set up for relief efforts. We suggest one here. You may send your donations made out to MMA Tsunami Relief Fund, 4730 Hittner Point, Eagan MN 55122.
