Three Thousand in Attendance at New Year's Celebration - Attendees Pray for Victims and Relief Efforts of the Tragic Tsunami

Pastors Lyle and Deborah Dukes of the Harvest Life Changers Church and Washington, D.C. radio station Heaven 1580 AM, host host worship celebration.

Woodbridge, VA (PRWEB) January 3, 2005 -- Over three thousand participants came out to celebrate the New Year and to also pray for the tsunami victims and relief drive as top Gospel group Israel Houghton and New Breed of Houston, Texas performed at the Hylton Memorial Chapel on Thursday, December 30th.

The concert, hosted by Pastors Lyle and Deborah Dukes of the Harvest Life Changers Church, International and Washington, D.C. radio station Heaven 1580 AM, was an opportunity to come together for a regional worship celebration. There were participants from several states, including New York, Maryland, West Virginia, Pennsylvania and North Carolina. During the service, there was a time of prayer and reflection for those affected by the devastating tsunami, which victimized the coastlines and islands of Asia and Africa, and the relief efforts of which many of the area churches are currently involved.

We wanted to use the concert as an opportunity to pray for this tragic situation," said Pastor Lyle Dukes." On December 26, 2004, a massive earthquake and tsunamis struck South Asia, killing tens of thousands of people. Thousands more lost their homes and all of their belongings. As we go into the New Year, there is a lot of work that we have to do for the world community and this kind of service will help to motivate and galvanize us toward that end," he added.
