Drummer Reuben Hoch will be burning in New York with his Jazz Trio, "Time" which features pianist, Sam Barsh and bassist, Ed Schuller. The trio plays Kavehaz on January 8 & 9, Smith's Bar on January 10.

Jazz Drummer extraordinaire, Reuben Hoch, hailing from sunny South Florida brings plenty of heat and fire to his three night New York city stint in January. Hoch known for his cutting edge work with The Chassidic Jazz Project shows his versatility while leading his new jazz trio, "Time". Joined by pianist Sam Barsh of Avishai Cohen's group and master bassist Ed Schuller of Joe Lovano's band, Time takes the creative essence of the jazz art form to new heights. Hoch calls the trio, "Time", in order to emphasize the drummer's critical role as the keeper of time. Hoch's renowned Chassidic Jazz Project demonstrates his committment to innovation.

Within The Chassidic Jazz Project, he maintains the company of Grammy Award nominee Bobby Thomas Jr. of the legendary group Weather Report as well as Monty Alexander's group and reedman Felipe Lamoglia who shares his talents with Arturo Sandoval and Gonzalo Rubalcaba. To quote Hoch, "complacency is not my bag ! Miles and Trane always raised the barline for everyone else". Hoch has continuously aspired to do just that as leader of The RH Factor, The Chassidic Jazz Project, West End Avenue, or member of the adventurous Israeli Jazz Quartet, Zaviot.

Hoch's career boasts appearances or recordings with Dave Liebman, Jim Pepper, Greg Osby, David Schnitter, Valerie Ponomaerov, Lonnie Plaxico, Ron McClure, Joey Calderazzo, John Lindberg, Richie Vitale, Scott Lee, Bobby Thomas Jr., Don Friedman, Leni Stern, Jeff Andrews and Christoph Spendel to name a few.

Hoch records a new CD with, "Time", on Naim records later in January joined by pianist Don Friedman and bassist Ed Schuller. Hoch plans to make a powerful musical statement with "Time".
