Domain Name Investors Rush To Aid Victims Of Asian Tsunami
A group of investors usually labeled as "domain squatters" are using their collective strength to drive internet traffic to official donation sites.
(PRWEB) January 5, 2005 -- Domain name investors from all over the world have joined in a massive effort to help drive web site traffic to the leading charity sites assisting with the Asian Tsunami relief effort.
Some domain name investors own thousands of prime Internet domain names and control millions of clicks from their visitors.
David Carter, a long established private domain investor has called upon his many firends and contacts in this little-known industry to assist the charities by adding links to their web sites, or by redirecting appropriate domain names to a charity of their choice.
"The response has been fantastic", says Carter, "Like everyone else, we are all shocked by this terrible disaster and wondered what, if anything, we could do to help. Collectively, one group I belong to control about 1 billion Internet user clicks per month. It was time to see how we could use those clicks to help and divert some of those visitors to a worthy cause".
Mr Carter's own company, Hollywood Internet Ltd of Birmingham, UK has even donated a web site, http://www.disastertalk.com to the cause.
This site carries links to the major charities and he is inviting any web site owner who has a message board covering this subject to add a link to the site at no cost.
