Idaho Technology and Roche Sign PCR License Agreement

Idaho Technology, Inc. and Roche have signed a license agreement granting Idaho Technology non-exclusive, worldwide access to Roche's PCR (polymerase chain reaction) patents.

Salt Lake City, UT (PRWEB) January 5, 2005 -- Idaho Technology, Inc. and Roche have signed a license agreement granting Idaho Technology non-exclusive, worldwide access to Roche's PCR (polymerase chain reaction) patents. The agreement provides Idaho Technology with rights under Roches PCR-related patents to make, use and sell products in the field of in vitro diagnostics.

PCR has rapidly become the keystone technology in the field of molecular diagnostics. Through the use of PCR, amplification of a small amount of genetic materials allows for the rapid detection of pathogenic organisms at the earliest possible stages or for the identification of related DNA or RNA sequences. The technology has a broad range of applications and has been successfully implemented in the field of medical molecular biology for the diagnosis of infectious diseases, genetic diseases, cancer and various other medical conditions.

This agreement accentuates the commitment Idaho Technology has to our customers and to the future development of PCR based solutions," stated Raymond Tarr, Idaho Technologys Director of Sales and Marketing. Idaho Technology is known best for its development of PCR based systems like LightCycler (a Roche system), RAPID, and RAZOR. Having the agreement in place will allow us to continue doing what we do best, create innovative solutions for in vitro diagnostics."
