DOVER, NH (PRWEB) January 5, 2005
In a continuing commitment to bring its guests a truly one-of-a-kind complete dining experience, Crescent City Bistro & Rum Bar will showcase its new cask conditioned beer engine at a special installation celebration on January 11th from 5pm-8pm at the award-winning restaurant at 83 Washington Street in Dover.
ÂThis cask system allows the BistroÂs guests to enjoy ales served in an authentic English style, noted Chris ÂKoz Kozlowski, Chef-Owner. ÂTo round out our one of a kind beverage offeringsÂfrom Northern New EnglandÂs first and most extensive Rum Bar, to our recent Award of Excellence from Wine Spectator magazine for one of the regionÂs top wine lists  this unique addition made total sense for our guests. A good number have come to appreciate only the finest in regionally made beers, especially those from our friends at The Shipyard Brewing Company he added.
Most draft beer is served by pushing the beer through the tap line with gas pressure from the keg. With cask-conditioned beer, the product is pulled out of the cask using a hand pump.
ÂWhat makes cask conditioned ale special is that it is dispensed without the aid of CO2. It goes through a secondary fermentation in the cask to mature the beer, commented John Pattee, Beverage Director. ÂOur guests constantly tell me how thrilled they are to have so many beverage choices here at the Bistro  this makes just one more reason for folks to keep coming back!Â
The featured cask beer for the January 11 event will be The Shipyard Brewing CompanyÂs Prelude Special Ale. Prelude is full-bodied in the true English style. ShipyardÂs master brewer Alan Pugsley, hailing from England, will be at the celebration along with Chef Koz to toast the installation of this traditional English beer engine.
Signature appetizers will be served during the event along with several very special Shipyard giveaways offered throughout the evening.
