Optelec reduces the list price of their Braille Voyager product line, providing affordable Braille accessibility for PC and laptops users.

Optelec USA, Inc, a member of the Tieman Group, announced today that in honor of Tieman Holding’s 30 years of innovation and exemplary service, it would be reducing the price of its Braille Voyager 44 and 70 cell models.

The Braille Voyager is a low cost, highly innovative refreshable Braille terminal providing the user with complete control of a PC or laptop directly from the Braille display. The sleek, ergonomic design of the Voyager ensures optimal operating comfort. Its Braille cells amplify the rich, 30-year history of Tieman excellence in the manufacture of Braille Technology. Available in two models, the Braille Voyager 44 is small enough to slide into the front pocket of a laptop case, while the Braille Voyager 70 is sleekly designed to cradle a standard PC keyboard.

“We’re a company of firsts,” states Larry Lewis, Vice President of Sales, Optelec USA. “Tieman was the first to invent and package the refreshable Braille cell as we know it, and now Optelec is the first to make such technology truly affordable for the employer, service provider, and end user. We’ve been able to lower our production costs to competitively price our 70 cell desktop displays at the same price point of other companies’ 40 cell displays.”

The new list price of the Braille Voyager 44 is $3,495. The Braille Voyager 70 will now list at an affordable $5,995.
