New York (PRWEB) January 6, 2005 -- Whether youre a home owner trying to make room for this years holiday gifts or an apartment dweller whose New Years resolution is to make better use of limited space, a series of home organizing workshops can provide solutions.

The New York chapter of the National Association of Professional Organizers (NAPO) is hosting a series of free Ask The Organizer" workshops throughout January in conjunction with Gracious Home, an upscale home retail store with two locations in Manhattan. In addition to making brief presentations on specific rooms and areas, professional organizers from New York City, Westchester, New Jersey and Long Island will answer general questions and provide free consultations to individuals on any part of their home.

January 2005 has been designated Get Organized" month by the National Association of Professional Organizers.

If people have trouble keeping their homes organized throughout the year, it most likely becomes worse during the holiday season," said Barbara Brock, president of NAPOs New York chapter. We get a lot of calls this time of year from people who cant see their countertops or are afraid to open their closets, for fear of an avalanche. These workshops are designed to help consumers throughout the tri-state area find answers to their organizational problems."

A total of 18 workshops will be held, beginning Jan. 8 and concluding Jan. 30, with 11 each occurring at Gracious Homes west side store (1992 Broadway at 67th St.) and its east side location (1217 Third Ave at 70th St.). Kitchen Organization sessions will be held Jan. 8-9 and Jan. 13; Home Office sessions will be held Jan. 15-16 and Jan. 20; Linen Closet/Utility Storage sessions will be held Jan. 22-23 and Jan. 27; and Clothes Closet sessions will be held Jan. 29-30.

It can be as simple as advising a homeowner on the best type of shelving system to meet their needs, or it can be as complex as re-organizing the entire house to make it more livable," said Brock. Because every space is different and everyones needs are different, there are few cookie-cutter solutions when it comes to better organizing your home or office."
