John Earley has joined Optimised Networks as Managing Director with a prediction that the company will transform the UK network management industry.
Optimised Networks is the first Âhybrid off-shore remote management company and is threatening to undermine existing management software vendors and Managed Service Providers alike.
Having headed up network management system (NMS) vendors, Chevin and Mutiny, Earley claims to have become disillusioned with NMS products. ÂNMS vendors and suppliers spend an inordinate amount of time in irrelevant talk shops dreaming of a critical mass adoption of management software and solutions that simply wonÂt happen. The reality is that most end-users cannot see value in what they regard as expensive insurance and simply do not believe industry figures quoting the cost of downtime. As a result, the market for NMS products is not there!Â
ÂManaged Service Providers, he claims, Âfare little better. For years, major players have been ripping off large corporate clients so successfully that they havenÂt even tried to address the needs of the more astute SME for fear of revealing just how expensive their core services are.Â
Earley is adamant that Optimised Networks marks a fundamental change by delivering industrial strength remote monitoring services at an unparalleled low price. "In-depth research amongst a number of UK Resellers leads me to conclude that there is substantial demand for our services which will launch in February."
Previously, John was CEO at Network Management Vendor Mutiny and MD of Chevin Limited. Prior to joining Chevin in 1998, he had worked for ISDN manufacturer KNX, which was subject to a $29 million acquisition and Jaguar Communications PLC which was acquired by Cable & Wireless.
