(PRWEB) January 8, 2005 -- Come to the Southgate House on March 5, 2005 for "Rock Against Muscular Dystrophy". A concert to help raise funds to find a cure for Muscular Dystrophy. Proceeds going to Parent Project MD. Doors at 7:30pm, show starts at 8pm, $10 cover, 21+. In honor of my 5 month old nephew Brody.

Proceeds from this concert will go to Parent Project MD. Parent Project Muscular Dystrophy is a not-for-profit organization founded in 1994 by parents of children with Duchenne and Becker Muscular Dystrophy. Parent Project Muscular Dystrophy mobilizes people in the United States and Worldwide in collaborative effort to enable people with Duchenne and Becker Muscular Dystrophy to survive, thrive and fully participate within their families and communities into adulthood and beyond.

The 4th Annual Duchenne muscular dystrophy Awareness Week is February 13-19, 2005. This week represents a coming together of the DMD community and a concentrated effort to raise awareness and funding for all of those fighting the battle of Duchenne muscular dystrophy. Our Awareness Week purposely falls during the week of Valentine's Day because we need to remind the world that Your Heart is a Muscle, Too.

Help us to say I WILL give a voice to Duchenne muscular dystrophy: a disorder that has long been misunderstood, and has been chronically under-funded. Help us to say I WILL improve standards of care, monitor the latest resources for research and treatment, and share information with those who need it most. Help us to say I WILL impact this generation touched by Duchenne and Becker muscular dystrophy. I WILL INSPIRE CHANGE because if I don't - who will?

Doors are at 7:30pm, show starts at 8pm. $10 cover charge. 21 and over. A raffle will also be taking place. Bands performing include, Steven Gregory (Cincinnati, OH), Emily Strand (Dayton, OH), Pale Beneath The Blue (Dayton, OH) , The Newbees (Cincinnati, OH), Wojo (Cincinnati, OH), Elizabeth Russell (International Acoustic Music Awards gives Elizabeth 4 out of 5 stars), Whitney Barricklow (Cincinnati, OH), The Walker Project (winner of 2003 Cammy award for best hip hop urban female vocalist), Mike Perkins (lead singer of The Shantee), Family Groove Company (Chicago, IL), and fluttr (Boston, MA).
