When Motivation Wears Off the Power of Prayer Delivers
Homeless and Hopeless Turned Author. Jay Kolo, a forty-three year old motivational author, is promoting his books The Terminal Game and Knee Deep In Prayer. Mr. Kolo, a recovering alcoholic who recently celebrated nine years of sobriety, was once homeless and without hope or purpose. Waking up time after time without shoes or recollection finally drove Mr. Kolo to a painful but necessary bottom. Since his last agonizing drop of alcohol Mr. Kolo has married and experienced the joy of fatherhood. He has two children of his own along with two stepchildren. "It's been a long but rewarding journey," says Kolo.
(PRWEB) January 8, 2005 -- The Terminal Game is a fictional story about a man who has a spiritual awakening in an airport terminal. Thirty-three year old Jason Richter, an alcoholic, is hopeless and spiritually bankrupt. Several unexpected twists and turns lead to his spiritual awakening. A powerful novel filled with inspiration, hope and ultimately for Jason, clarity.
Mr. Kolo's inspiration for The Terminal Game came from some of his darkest days which were spent at O'Hare Airport in Chicago. "It was a place where I could drink freely and hide from myself all at the same time. I knew I had a story that needed to be shared with others who were in the same desperate situation I was. The trouble was I also knew I had to quit drinking before I could honestly write it," says Mr. Kolo. Three years into his sobriety Mr. Kolo began writing and he hasn't stopped.
His second book Knee Deep In Prayer is a collection of forty short stories, poems and inspirational messages for those seeking shelter from alcohol dependency and other addictions. Inspired from the Journey With Jay series this book is motivational and uplifting. It will illuminate the mind with the possibilities that can be achieved with daily prayer. Positive, powerful and to the point. "From pain reason and purpose are possible. The secret has been my reliance on prayer. Without the benefits that prayer delivers I would be right back where I was ten years ago," states Mr. Kolo. Knee Deep In Prayer is the first installment of the Knee Deep In Prayer series planned by Mr. Kolo.
Besides his motivational novels Mr. Kolo and his wife Amy, operate a web site dedicated to helping people who struggle with alcohol dependency and addictions. It features an inspirational monthly message along with many other helpful pages and resources directed at those whose lives are under the constant control of alcoholic bliss.
"Alcohol dependency is on the rise in this country while confidence and self-esteem are on the decline. People from all walks of life are relying far too much on alcohol to get them through their troubles. We all have it in us to overcome life's challenges without depending on the false and damaging illusions alcohol delivers. It is Mr. Kolo's hope that his books will be a source of inspiration to others and help them examine their own situation and find the power from within to change. "Being motivated is fine but I believe the power of prayer takes over when motivation wears off," says Kolo.
Mr. Kolo has two other books which are due for release in the spring of 2005. House on Paddock Lane a fictional novel and Knee Deep In Prayer 2.
