SecurLinx Introduces FaceTrac, a Biometrically - Enabled Surveillance System

Securlinx Corporation announced the introduction of its FaceTrac Surveillance System. The product was previously tested at Raymond James Stadium for the NFL Championship Game and at the 2002 Winter Olympics. Utilizing facial recognition biometric technology, photo images of persons of interest are stored in the database and compared to images of individuals entering the facility. The system can continuously monitor a secure entry point and significantly increase efficiency for both security personnel and individuals seeking access to the facility.

(PRWEB) January 7, 2005 -- SecurLinx Corporation announced the introduction of its FaceTrac Surveillance System. FaceTrac provides security professionals with the ability to manage a watch list of up to 500 persons. The basic configuration can be installed for less than $15,000.00.

We have worked very hard to develop a system that performs at a high level and is affordable to own and operate," stated Barry Hodge, President and CEO of SecurLinx. The system should increase security and efficiency at any secure entry point."

The FaceTrac algorithm captures faces from the video stream and compares them with images stored in the database. Once a subject has been identified, FaceTrac notifies security personnel with a user-configured prompt or alert, greatly increasing the effectiveness of existing manpower.

One of FaceTracs many advantages is its compatibility with all leading facial recognition engine providers. The open framework design enables it to be configured to use the biometric engine that is best suited to the application. It is not constrained to using any one solution as the market changes and the technology advances.

Beta versions of this technology have been successfully deployed at the Raymond James Stadium during the 2000 Super Bowl and the E Center in conjunction with the Winter Olympics.
