The National Work at Home Mom Association Helps Texas Moms Who Were Scammed
It was brought to the attention of President Lynn Phelps that a few work at home moms were scammed in 2004.
(PRWEB) January 11, 2005 -- It was brought to the attention of President Lynn Phelps that a few moms were scammed in an expo related scam in Houston Texas. These allegations are based on hear say and there have not been any legal filings. While we still do not know all of the details surrounding this scam, it appears that one of the nwahma members tried to promote an expo on her own. She took the money and then canceled the expo. She has not returned their money Says Lynn Phelps.
It is very unfortunate when someone does this. We have worked so hard on changing the image of moms who work from a home office. Our expos are professional events and a lot of finances, work and preparation go into these events.
The National Work at Home Mom Association terminated the membership of the member involved. While she was not stating her event as one of ours she was using her membership to gain trust. The National Work at Home Mom Association went a step further and offered these women a free booth at their expo scheduled for April in Houston.
We feel that while we were not involved in this scam that we have the opportunity to help these women regain some lost expenses. We want them to achieve success and build a strong foundation. The National Work at Home Mom Association issues a warning to all who are considering entering an expo.
Expos are a great place to build your business. Please make sure that before you sign up that you are signing up with a company, an Association or Professional Show Producer. Expos are not small events and individuals are not equipped to handle them financially or physically. Make sure that you know what you are signing up for. An expo is not a festival.
The National Work at Home Mom Association is a non profit association. Not a for profit resource. We are currently lobbying congress for tax breaks for companies who outsource more work. We provide resources; find legitimate work at home opportunities. Fight work at home related scams. The NWAHMA is the Watch Dog for work at home moms.
