Musgrave Chooses Accord for Its New Foodservice Operation

Following its recent acquisition of C & R Foods, Musgrave Foodservices is investing in an Accord - Distribution solution, from UK supply chain specialist Business Computer Projects Ltd (BCP), to replace the current system and to enable rapid integration of the new business within Musgrave.

Stockport, UK (PRWEB) January 12, 2005 -- Following its recent acquisition of C & R Foods, Musgrave Foodservices is investing in an Accord - Distribution solution, from supply chain specialist Business Computer Projects Ltd (BCP), to replace the current system and to enable rapid integration of the new business within Musgrave.

Musgrave Foodservices is an operating unit within Musgrave Wholesale Services (MWS) and a division of the Musgrave Group, Irelands largest food and grocery distributor.

Based in Killarney, C & R Foods is a specialist frozen food supplier to the foodservice sector, with an annual turnover of approximately €10m. The acquisition reflects Musgrave Groups continued commitment to invest in its Foodservice business.

The Accord solution will be implemented at C & R Foods early this year and will control all aspects of warehouse operation, from purchasing and goods received to stock control and warehouse management.

The implementation includes the new, enhanced Accord Telesales module. and plans for Voice WMS features at a later date. To enable Telesales operators to make full use of the new system to grow sales and improve customer service from 'day one, data will be migrated from the existing system at C & R Foods. This will include customer specific pricing and sales history.

As well as its specialised Foodservice capabilities, an important factor in the decision to use Accord was the ability to run a multi-depot operation from the main system server at Ballymun. Musgrave has used Accord for its Food Service operation since opening its dedicated depot at Ballymun in 2000, where, as David McGee, Head of IT, explains: Accord has proved vital to the success of the operation -- giving us effective control over the business." MWS is confident that the implementation at C & R Foods will build on this success, allowing the company to maximise efficiency and customer service as it moves towards its goal of becoming the number one food service supplier in Ireland.
