Southeastern Council of Foundations Names New Board Members for 2005

Philanthropic leaders from across the southeast are elected to the Southeastern Council of Foundations (SECF) board of trustees. SECF, a membership association of grantmaking organizations representing approximately $30 billion in philanthropic assets elected seven new members to their board of directors.

Atlanta, GA (PRWEB) January 12, 2005 -- The Southeastern Council of Foundations (SECF), a membership association of grantmaking foundations and programs announces its 2005 Board of Trustees. The board includes seven new trustees, as well as a trustee re-elected to a second term.

Elected to a second term is Richard Dick" H.C. Clay, a trustee of the Norton Foundation in Louisville, KY. Mr. Clay is a practicing attorney and a former President of the Kentucky Bar Association. New trustees on the (SECF) board include:

• Eugene (Gene) W. Cochrane, Jr., President of the Duke Endowment in Charlotte, NC. Before joining the Endowment in 1980, he was a hospital administrator for eight years.
• Doyce H. Deas, a trustee of the L. D. Hancock Foundation and chair of the Doyce H. Deas Foundation in Tupelo, MS. She also chairs the Mississippi Forum for Children & Families, the Harrisburg Cultural & Social Services Center and the board of the Tupelo Corps Salvation Army.
• Debra M. Jacobs, President of the William G. Selby and Marie Selby Foundation in Sarasota, FL. In addition to her leadership of the Selby Foundation, Ms. Jacobs administers eight other foundations.
• Thomas C. Keith, Executive Director of the Sisters of Charity Foundation of South Carolina in Columbia, SC. Mr. Keith previously was Chief Executive Officer of the Providence Hospital Foundation in Columbia.
• Thomas W. Ross, Executive Director of the Z. Smith Reynolds Foundation in Winston-Salem, NC. Before joining the foundation, he was Director of the North Carolina Administrative Office of the Courts.
• Allyson Rothrock, Assistant Executive Director of the Harvest Foundation of the Piedmont in Martinsville, VA. Founder of Best Travel, Ms. Rothrock previously served as the Harvest Foundations interim executive director.
• David D. Weitnauer, Executive Director of the Rockdale Foundation in Atlanta, GA. Previously he was a chaplain at Baptist Medical Center-Montclair and associate pastor of South Highland Presbyterian Church, both in Birmingham, AL, as well as a pastoral counselor of the Georgia Association for Pastoral Care and a faculty member of its training center.

Continuing their terms on the SECF board are:

• Ms. Barbara Bobbi" Cleveland, (SECF Vice-Chair), Tull Charitable Foundation, Atlanta, Georgia
• Mr. Ed Furey, III, (SECF Secretary/Treasurer), Dr. P. Phillips Foundation, Orlando, Florida
• Mr. Peter F. Bird, Jr., The Frist Foundation, Nashville, Tennessee
• Mr. H.W. Will" Close, Jr., The Springs Close Foundation, Inc., Fort Mill, South Carolina
• Ms. Sallie Adams Daniel, Troutman Sanders, Atlanta, Georgia
• Mr. W. E. Chip" Gaylor, Jr., Patricia J. Buster Foundation, Venice, Florida
• Ms. Shannon Sadler Hull, Community Foundation for Palm Beach & Martin Counties, West Palm Beach, Florida
• Mr. William B. Johnson, Alabama Power Foundation, Birmingham, Alabama
• Ms. Andrea L. Reynolds, Community Foundation for Greater Memphis, Memphis, Tennessee
• Ms. Mason Rummel, James Graham Brown Foundation, Louisville, Kentucky
