ETA, the leading provider of online RFP solutions for the corporate travel market, today announced the appointment of Cheryl Hutchinson to the position of Executive Vice President of its North American operations. Hutchinson, a business travel expert, joins ETA from Travelocity Business and GetThere, where she held the position of customer advocate.
The business travel industry has been completely transformed by the Internet. As global distribution systems (GDSs) become deregulated and as more suppliers are using the web to distribute their services, finding all the necessary content will require organizations to source increasingly more suppliers. ETA anticipates a sharp increase of business travel RFPs in the coming months.
ETABid®, ETA's flagship product, is a procurement solution that automates the RFP process to streamline both the issuers and bidders work of sending and responding to business travel bids. Initially launched for travel management company RFPs, ETABid will soon be extended to include other supplier services, such as online self booking solutions, corporate payment systems, and car rental.
Karen McGee, the London-based managing director of ETA, says, "We are delighted to have someone of Cheryl HutchinsonÂs caliber to lead our operation in North America. Our solution can be used equally well for multi-national bids or domestic bids on either side of the Atlantic, and I am certain that Cheryl is the right person to demonstrate the value of our solutions to this market."
"ETA's solutions bring true value to the business travel industry. Our product is changing the way people think of travel management on both sides of the Atlantic," says Hutchinson. "Business travel buyers and suppliers in North America will find this solution eases and accelerates the bid processes. It automates repetitive tasks and guides users through structured frameworks. Suppliers will be able to handle more RFPs, while buyers will find that the flexibility and design of the solution leads them to better selection decisions."
In addition to Cheryl HutchinsonÂs leadership roles as the Association of Corporate Travel Executives Chairperson and President, she has worked on the buyer and supplier sides of the corporate travel business. As a buyer, she was director of global travel for American Management Systems from 1995 to 2002. On the supplier side, she worked for Travelocity Business and was the managing director of strategic development for GetThere. Her experience also includes various sales positions for American Express and Thomas Cook. Hutchinson, a renowned authority on travel management automation and travel process redesign, is based in San Diego, CA.
