Redesigned San Francisco Museum, Salvador Dali Exhibit Among the 12 Most Intriguing New Things To Come in 2005"

A San Francisco museum made the list. So did a new major league baseball franchise. The world premiere of an opera featuring a book by Toni Morrison has been selected, so has a new roller coaster that will be the tallest and fastest in the world. Sixnewthings.com has selected its "12 Most Intriguing 'New Things' To Come in 2005".

Dallas, TX (PRWEB) January 12, 2005 -- A completely redesigned museum in San Francisco, a signature exhibition of 20th-century paintings and an opera penned by Pulitzer Prize-winner Toni Morrison are among the Twelve Most Intriguing Things to Come in 2005", as selected by sixnewthings.com.

The new de Young Museum in San Francisco, scheduled to open in the fall, made the 2005 list because of its innovative design. A series of exquisitely landscaped courtyards will intersect the new Indoor galleries of the museum, which is situated in Golden Gate Park.

Also making the 2005 list are a signature exhibition of Salvador Dalis paintings and a new opera about an escaped slave who sacrifices her children to prevent them from being returned to bondage. The Salvador Dali exhibit at the Philadelphia Museum of Art opens this February and features examples of his earlier, Cubist-inspired works as well as his landmark surrealist paintings. Margaret Garner", an opera featuring a score by Grammy-winner Richard Danielpour and a libretto by Pulitzer Prize-winner Toni Morrison, is being performed in 2005 by the Michigan Opera Theatre and the Cincinnati Opera, and in 2006 by the Philadelphia Opera.

• The Belmont Hotel at Dilbeck Court, a 1940s-era motel in inner-city Dallas that is undergoing renovations by a developer who has recently become a convert to New Urbanism.

• Kingda Ka, the worlds tallest and fastest roller coaster, premiering this spring at Six Flags Great Adventure in New Jersey;
