Panel to Discuss "Behavioral Finance, Options and Volatility" in Chicago on January 27

The topic of behavioral finance explores topics such as how a study of investors' psychology and emotions can help explain many stock market anomalies, market bubbles, and crashes.

Chicago, IL (PRWEB) January 11, 2005 -- A panel of four financial experts will meet from 5:00 p.m. to 7:30 p.m. on Thursday, January 27, at the Chicago Board Options Exchange, 400 South LaSalle Street, Chicago, to discuss the topic "Behavioral Finance, Options and Volatility." The topic of behavioral finance explores topics such as how a study of investors' psychology and emotions can help explain many stock market anomalies, market bubbles, and crashes. Investors now are exploring ways in which volatility products can be used to boost risk-adjusted returns.

The panelists for the meeting will be: (1) Professor Allen Poteshman, University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign on "Options Trading and Stock Price Movements;" (2) Mr. Scott Nations, Fortress Trading, on "Behavioral Skew and Equity Options Volatility;" (3) Professor Keith Black, Stuart School of Business at the Illinois Institute of Technology, on "How the VIX Ate My Kurtosis;" and (4) Miss Diane Garnick, Institutional Investor All Star, on "One Hundred Years of Volatility."
